The World Food Programme (WFP) Project with the Green Climate Fund (GCF), “Climate Services and Diversification of Climate-Sensitive Livelihoods to Empower Food-Insecure and Vulnerable Communities in the Kyrgyz Republic,” aims to reduce vulnerabilities to climate change and enhance the adaptive capacity and resilience of rural communities.
This will be achieved through training local populations to prioritize environmental sustainability, adaptative practices, and minimize negative impacts on ecosystems.
Components
- The training includes, but is not limited to the project covers three interlinked components:
- Component 1. Vulnerable communities are empowered to make informed decisions about their livelihoods, respond to climate risks and opportunities, and adapt to climate-related changes;
- Component 2. Livelihood strengthening and diversification to increase the adaptive capacity of vulnerable groups and build community resilience; and
- Component 3. Capacity building and decision-making support to enhance climate action using a multi-sectoral approach.

Expected Results
- The selected Cooperating Partner is expected to deliver the following results: Training Implementation Conduct training sessions for at least: 3,150 participants under Task 1, covering topics such as: Bioactivated Charcoal Production Water Management and Irrigation Practices Silage and Concentrated Feed Production Financial Literacy Digital Hygiene 840 participants under Task 2 on: Minimum & No-Tillage Farming Technologies Participant Mobilization Engage with local authorities and stakeholders to mobilize training participants based on WFP and Ministry of Labour criteria. Ensure inclusive participation with focus on vulnerable groups. Avoid double counting (especially for Task 2)
