Applications are now open for the Civil Participation Grant Program to support social change by bringing together the power of civil society and the potential of local governments in Turkey.
Civil Participation Grant Program, which is the second component of the Civil Participation Project; It will be implemented as a capacity building program through grant support to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local governments and other local actors.
The Project on Strengthening Civil Participation for the Development of Democratic Local Governance in Turkey (Civil Participation Project) is financed by the European Union within the framework of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance-II (IPA II) Funds and is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The support provided within the scope of the Civil Participation Grant Program provides financial resources to selected non-governmental organizations on an open, transparent and competitive basis, with the aim of strengthening the dialogue and cooperation between NGOs and local governments and thus increasing the participation of civil society in policy and decision-making processes, primarily at the local level. will include allocation.
The overall aim of the Civil Participation Grant Program is to create a conducive and sustainable environment for NGO-public partnership based on desire, trust and mutual acceptance. The specific purpose of the Civil Participation Grant Program is to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between non-governmental organizations, local governments, public institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
Goals and Priority Areas of the Civic Participation Grant Program
- To serve the stated purposes; Priority areas are determined as follows. Projects that include only one of these priority areas will be accepted within the scope of the Civic Participation Grant Programme .
- Priority 1: Improving the capacity and resilience of populations and economic sectors vulnerable to the impacts of climate change through climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation actions, and supporting low-carbon and climateresilient development
- Priority 2: Improving the preparedness, response and recovery capacities of NGOs and local governments to natural and human disasters, making cities and society resilient
- Priority 3: To support socio-economic development and civil participation mechanisms, women, young people, children, earthquake victims and disadvantaged groups (disabled people, people in poverty or at risk of poverty, convicts and detainees, ex-convicts and detainees, displaced persons, Roma citizens, child workers and their parents, people at risk of poverty and in need of protection children, etc.) to ensure their participation in decision-making mechanisms and implementation and to increase volunteering.
- Priority 4: Encouraging the use of new technologies and information to strengthen the cooperation between NGOs and local governments, strengthening the capacities of existing non-governmental organization centers, ensuring the establishment of new centers
Funding Information
- The approximate total amount allocated to the grant program under this call for proposals is 3.5 million USD.
- Lot 1:
- Minimum Grant Support: $10,000
- Maximum Grant Support: $25,000
- Total Amount Planned to be Allocated: $300,000
- Lot 2:
- Minimum Grant Support: $25,000
- Maximum Grant Support: $100,00
- Total Amount Planned to be Allocated: $2,600,000
- Lot 3:
- Minimum Grant Support: $50,000
- Maximum Grant Support: $150,000
- Total Amount Planned to be Allocated: $600,000
Duration
- The planned implementation period of a proposed project is less than 4 months and more than 12 months within the scope of Lot 1 and Lot 2; Within the scope of Lot 3, it should not be less than 4 months and not more than 15 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible to receive a grant, the applicant must meet the following conditions:
- Have legal personality and
- Not for profit and
- Being a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) (association, foundation, federation/confederation, non-governmental cooperative) and
- Establishment/headquarters in accordance with civil society legislation in Turkey and
- To support public institutions and organizations, public services or personnel
