Applications are now open for the Protection of the Euro Against Counterfeiting Program.
Civitates strengthens media by supporting them on their growth path with a specific focus on organizational strengthening, business model development, editorial development, audience engagement and outreach.
They also support media outlets to enhance their contribution to a respectful and balanced public dialogue. The call for proposals is focused on media resilience and sustainability.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount awarded per organisation will be €160,000 for two years and the grant amount may not exceed half of the applicants’ total spending in 2024.
Geographic Focus
- They are welcoming proposals from media organisations registered in Hungary, Poland, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Croatia.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants operating at national level (operate within the boundaries of a specific priority country and cover news that primarily serve the population of that country)
- Applicants producing quality, in-depth public interest journalism
- Non-profit media (non-profit legal entity or bylaws regulating the re-investment of profits).
- Organizations on a clear growth path with a proven track record of at least 12 months of active coverage.
- Collaboration with local or regional media and connection with international networks is a plus.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Non-eligible:
- For-profit organizations that do not re-invest profits in the organisation.
