Deadline: 10 February 2020
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Cambodia is currently inviting local NGOs and CBOs working on Projects that test appropriate renewable energy technologies in Indigenous Peoples lands and territories (i.e. micro-hydro, solar, wind, biogas etc) in the provinces that are home of IPs in Cambodia to submit their project concept paper for the grants.
In December 2019, UNDP Cambodia has been implementing the GEF OP6 Innovation Programme on Indigenous Peoples’ Access to Energy which seeks to support field-based, action-oriented renewable energy projects led by IPs with tangible impacts in relation to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goal of the programme is to identify innovative projects that will support a broad spectrum of culturally-appropriate technologies in Indigenous Peoples territories, including those which combine western science and traditional knowledge systems, with quantifiable measurements.
The Small Grants Programme (SGP) works directly by providing grants up to USD 50,000 per project and technical support to local NGOs and community-based organizations (CBOs). Grants are distributed on a competitive basis.
SGP will fund up to 50% of the total project cost with the remaining funding to be provided by the funded organization, community contribution and/or other donor support, either monetary or in kind and services.
