The Integrated climate risk management for strengthened resilience to climate change in Buner and Shangla Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province” project has launched in collaboration between the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination (MOCC&EC;) of the Government of Pakistan as the National Designated Authority (NDA), the Planning and Development Department (Pⅅ) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KP) as a co-Executing Entity (EE), the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) as the Accredited Entity (AE) and co-executing entity.
The project aims to reduce heightened flood risks in targeted districts by improving district-level forecasting and monitoring, strengthening public sector capacity for early warning systems, empowering vulnerable rural households with climate-resilient tools, and introducing impact-based forecasting to enable anticipatory rather than reactive responses. It will benefit around 146,737 vulnerable people directly and 1.6 million individuals indirectly in the targeted area.
