The U.S. Diplomatic Mission, through its Public Diplomacy Section, is inviting proposals for projects that aim to enhance the relationship between Australia and the United States that focus on building lasting people-to-people connections while addressing key areas such as economic prosperity, and global security.
Goal
- The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Australia invites proposals for projects to strengthen people-to-people ties between Australia and the U.S. and to advance the shared goals of economic well-being and a safe and secure world.
Priority Project Areas
- The following four topics are the main focus for U.S. activities in Australia for 2025. Proposals must address one or more of these priorities.
- U.S.-Australia people-to-people partnerships: Activities that promote democratic processes, human rights, rule of law, or freedom of speech; and which strengthen U.S.-Australian ties.
- Security: Activities that support the U.S. and Australia’s ability to address both current and future security challenges, including the promotion of sustainable infrastructure investment in the Indo-Pacific region.
- Indo-Pacific collaboration: Activities that advance shared prosperity, security, good governance, and/or free speech in one or more countries in the region in addition to the U.S. and Australia.
- Economic prosperity: Activities that highlight the benefits of U.S.-Australian economic cooperation; support high-quality, trustworthy supply chain partners for critical goods and/or services; or promote sustainable infrastructure investment in the Indo-Pacific region.
Funding Information
- Maximum for each award: $150,000
Duration
- Project Performance Period: Proposed projects should be completed in 12 months or less.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following Australian, U.S., or international organizations are eligible to apply:
- Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/nongovernmental organizations;
- Public and private educational institutions (any level);
- Public international organizations;
- Governmental institutions at any level;
- Individuals;
- Cultural, educational, and diaspora leaders;
- First Nations governmental or non-governmental actors;
- Media.
- For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply
