The European Union and UNDP invite non-profit, non-commercial legal entities to participate in a grant competition for establishing a renewable energy community in Lagodekhi Municipality.
Aim
- Responding to Lagodekhi Municipality’s rural development and energy needs, the Call for Proposals will identify a local community-based organisation to perform the following set of activities:
- Purchase and install solar panels in a pre-selected area of Lagodekhi Municipality.
- Develop and implement renewable energy solutions for rural households and/or the private sector.
- Raise renewable energy awareness among local communities and the private sector focusing on solar energy.
Funding Information
- Any funds requested for the grant(s) under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts.
- minimum amount: USD 50,000.
- maximum amount: USD 70,000
- Duration of the Rural Renewable Energy grant activities within the grant application shall not exceed 6 months, counted from the date of the agreement signature to the date when all relevant activities have been successfully completed, reported and accepted by the UNDP/SRDG Project (Note: grant agreement 1 month (on top of the 6 months of grants’ implementation) should be allocated for final reporting to the UNDP/SRDG Project).
Who can Participate?
- Eligible applicants shall meet the following criteria:
- Be a non-profit, non-commercial legal entity, a Local Action Group (LAG), or non-governmental organisation. The Call for Proposals is not intended for religious or political organisations, and state-owned entities.
- Be registered in Lagodekhi Municipality. Applicants will be requested to provide their organisation’s statute and certificate along with application forms.
- Have proven experience and capabilities in carrying out rural development projects.
- Have proven experience and evident potential in implementing renewable energy initiatives and providing relevant support to local communities.
