The U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh Public Diplomacy Section is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the U.S. Department of State’s FY2025 Smith Mundt Public Diplomacy Funds Small Grants Program.
PDS Phnom Penh invites proposals for programs with an American cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy, culture, values, and perspectives.
Programs should also highlight U.S.-Cambodian shared principles and responsibilities and promote bilateral cooperation, strengthening mutual understanding through cultural, educational, artistic, and creative programs and trainings.
Priority Program Areas
- Highlighting shared interests and values, including the protection of human rights or civil liberties, through creative projects and programs.
- Safeguarding Americans and Cambodians against transnational cybercrime.
- Developing an open, reliable, and secure digital economy.
- Spurring economic growth by equipping youth with knowledge and skills relevant to specific fields in rural areas.
- Encouraging innovation through STEM.
- Strengthening civic engagement through shared community interests.
- Preserving Cambodia’s unique cultural, historical, and artistic heritage through programs that educate, train, and/or create opportunities for economic growth.
Funding Information
- Award Amounts: Awards may range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $25,000
Duration
- Length of Performance Period: 1 month to 12 months
Eligibility Criteria
- The following U.S. or foreign (including Cambodian) organizations are eligible to apply:
- Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations
- Public educational institutions
- Individuals
- Public International Organizations and Governmental Institutions
- All organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued via SAM.gov as well as a valid registration on SAM.gov.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following types of programs are not eligible for funding:
- Programs relating to partisan political activity;
- Charitable or development activities;
- Construction programs;
- Programs that support specific religious activities;
- Fund-raising campaigns;
- Lobbying for specific legislation or programs;
- Scientific research.
