The City of Greater Geelong is excited to announce the Positive Ageing Grants are open.
The grants are available to support community-hosted activities and experiences that promote and support healthy ageing for people aged 55+ in the City of Greater Geelong.
The Positive Ageing Grants support community hosted activities and experiences such as workshops, dances, concerts and sporting activities that celebrate positive ageing in the community.
Objectives
- The objectives of the Positive Ageing Grants are to:
- increase physical activity
- promote mental health and wellbeing
- increase social connections
- recognise and celebrate achievements
- support positive ageing
- provide opportunities for intergenerational activity
Funding Information
- The total amount of funding available for Positive Ageing Grants is $24,000.
- You may request up to $1,000.
Eligible Projects
- Here are some examples of projects they may fund:
- Multi-generational activities that benefit people aged 55+
- Celebration/recognition of a milestone or person
- Workshops
- Dances
- Concerts
- Sporting activities
- Increasing muscle strength activity
- Sightseeing tours
- Digital learning
- Come and try day
- Art and craft
Eligibility Criteria
- Being eligible means, you can receive a grant, but it does not guarantee funding. To apply for this grant, you must be one of the following:
- incorporated not-for-profit organisation or group
- unincorporated group with an auspice
- registered charitable organisation
- school or learning institution (only for non-curriculum-based activities that primarily benefit the wider community)
Ineligibility Criteria
- You are not eligible to apply if you are any of the following:
- businesses
- individuals operating as sole traders (with an active ABN)
- an individual (without an ABN)
- a previous applicant with an outstanding acquittal for grant funding from the City
- an applicant who has not complied with the terms of a previous funding agreement
- an entity currently involved in legal proceedings with the City, bankruptcy or similar situations
- an entity with outstanding debt to the City
