The David Bohnett Foundation is seeking letter of inquiry (LOI) for its 2017 grant programs with an aim to improve society through social activism.
David Bohnett Foundation pursues its mission by providing funding, state-of-the-art technology and technical support to innovative organizations and institutions that, in addition to meeting the funding guidelines, share our vision.
The David Bohnett Foundation has contributed more than $100 million in grants to socially active organizations.
Funding Areas
- LGBT Community: National & Southern California organizations that provide equal rights & protections for all LGBT people.
- CyberCenters: Computer labs at location LGBT community centers.
- Gun Violence Prevention: The reduction of gun violence through research, advocacy and community empowerment.
- Leadership Initiatives: Developing the next generation of municipal leaders.
- Animal Language: Scientific and academic animal language research and exploration.
Eligibility Criteria
- All eligible organizations must have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation and must fit within the David Bohnett Foundation planned giving areas.
- The David Bohnett Foundation does not accept grant applications or inquires for the following:
- Individuals
- Videos or other film productions
- Organizations outside the US
How to Apply
Applying for a grant from The David Bohnett Foundation is a three-stage process:
- Applicant must determine their organization’s eligibility.
- All applicants must submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI), no longer than two pages via given website.
- If applicant’s LOI is accepted, he/she will be invited to complete and submit stage-three of the application by the appropriate due date listed to the right.
