The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is seeking applications for its program “Accelerating the Prevention and Control of HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STDs and TB in the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands”.
Program Aims
- Promote program collaboration and services integration to capitalize on the opportunity to diagnose, treat, and prevent HIV, STD, TB, and VH in persons with similar risk factors.
- Improve collection, sharing, reporting, analysis, interpretation, and use of surveillance data.
- Assure implementation of policies and plans that will make effective use of resources to improve health outcomes.
- Develop the public health care workforce through training and education.
- Improve public health laboratory capacity.
- Enhance prevention, care, follow-up and treatment for disease-specific activities.
- Reduce administrative burdens of managing multiple cooperative agreements by consolidating the application and award process as well as streamlining the reporting requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Applicants:
- Unrestricted (i.e., open to any type of entity above),
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- State governments
- Special district governments
- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
- For profit organizations other than small businesses
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- City or township governments
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Independent school districts
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
- Small businesses
- County governments
- Additional Information on Eligibility:
- Foreign Institutions:
- Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible to apply.
- Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are not eligible to apply.
- CDC will consider any application requesting an award higher than the ceiling amount of $1,000,000 to be non-responsive.
- Applicant must provide proof of ability to serve populations in one of the jurisdictions listed below:
- Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI)
- American Samoa
- Guam
- Federated States of Micronesia (FSM)
- Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI)
- Republic of Palau
