The National Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking applications from eligible organisations for a program entitled “Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) E-learning for HAZMAT and Emergency Response” that focuses on the development of e-learning products that support the health and safety training of hazardous materials workers, emergency responders, and skilled support personnel, and supports the development of e-learning products that assist both students and instructors with a variety of delivery platforms.

Funding Information
- NIEHS intends to commit $738,000 in FY 2017 to fund 4-7 awards.
- Budgets up to $100,000 total costs per year for Phase I and up to $200,000 total costs per year for Phase II may be requested.
- Award periods normally may not exceed 1 year for Phase I and 2 years for Phase II.
Priorities
- All products must be directly related to the health and safety training of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) workers;
- Skilled support personnel;
- Emergency responders in biosafety response, infectious disease training and cleanup;
- Emergency responders in disasters and resiliency training;
- For ATT tools to assist in research into the acute and long-term health effects of environmental disasters.
Eligibility Criteria
Only United States small business concerns (SBCs) are eligible to submit applications for this opportunity.

- Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply.
- Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are eligible to apply.
- Foreign components, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement, may be allowed.
