Embassy of Canada in Chile: Canada Fund for Local Initiatives 2017-2018

The Embassy of Canada in Chile is pleased to launch the call for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives for 2017-2018.

Priority Areas

  • Empower women and girls and promote gender equality.
  • Promote peaceful pluralism and respect for diversity, in particular the promotion of LGBT rights, immigrants and refugees.
  • Support the participation of indigenous communities for inclusive governance, strengthening their capacity to participate in consultation processes in relation to projects in their region, and their democratic participation in the country’s affairs.
  • Promote actions to benefit the environment and against climate change, and support an inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
  • Promote inclusive and accountable governance, including initiatives aimed at promoting transparency and preventing corruption.

Funding Information

The maximum amount delivered per project is $ 25,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Non-profit, community and non-governmental organizations in Chile;
  • Chilean academic institutions working on projects in Chile;
  • International, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional organizations, institutions and agencies working in local development activities in Chile;
  • Chilean regional or national governmental agencies, agencies and governmental institutions working on local projects;
  • Non-governmental and non-profit Canadian organizations working in local development activities in Chile, with the cooperation of local entities.
