The European Union is seeking proposals for Complementary Support to the Development of Waste Management Schemes having an aim to contribute to the development and improvement of comprehensive waste management schemes at municipalities’ level. The global objective of this call for proposals is to protect the coastal zones and maritime resources from any environmental degradation by land-based sources of pollution.
Land-based sources of pollution (municipal solid waste and industrial waste) in coastal areas will be suppressed or mitigated. This result will be achieved through the development of comprehensive waste management schemes within municipalities located in the coastal river basins (excluding municipal waste water management).
Priority Areas
This project scheme will mainly target
- municipal solid waste and,
- industrial waste (including waste water, slaughterhouse waste, non-hazardous waste like for instance olive oil waste, hazardous waste).
Funding Information
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between minimum amount EUR 1 500 000.00 to maximum amount EUR 3 000 000.00.
Eligibility Criteria
- Lead Applicant
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be a specific type of organisation such as: local authority, non-governmental organisation, international
- be established in a Member State of the European Union, Lebanon or any of the partner countries and territories covered by ENI Instrument. This obligation does not apply to international organisations and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- Co-applicant(s)
- Co-applicants are obligatory. It is strongly recommended to include in the consortium at least one local authority (as lead applicant or as co-applicant) and a locally specialised land planning company or research operator (as co-applicant)
- Co-applicants participate in designing and implementing the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant.
- Co-applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to the lead applicant.
- Entities
- Entities affiliated to applicant may be:
- Entities directly or indirectly controlled by an applicant (daughter companies or first-tier subsidiaries). They may also be entities controlled by an entity controlled by an applicant (granddaughter companies or second-tier subsidiaries) and the same applies to further tiers of control;
- Entities directly or indirectly controlling the applicant (parent companies). Likewise, they may be entities controlling an entity controlling the applicant;
- Entities under the same direct or indirect control as the applicant (sister companies).

Am working with an organization known as Compass. Compass was founded and develop from a well known magazine at south Sudan students Association. it grew into socio-economic awareness center for Sudanese in Egypt. In 1995 Ford foundation middle East funded Compass activity to published magazine.
In 2004 Compass was establish and registered in the present south Sudan as National organization working with community with an aim to improve on availability, accessibility and sustainability of basic socio-economic services delivery.
we work with community to facilitate transformation of community attitude, behavior and practices to fit the ever changing livelihood strategies and contributing to improve condition of living for people
from our inception, we work with local government partners to equip communities, businesses community and CBOs with tools and connection they need to break the life cycle of poverty and guide community for their own development
