The European Union is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a thematic programme entitled “Complementary Rehabilitation and Re-socialisation Support in the Criminal Justice Sector” in order to promote restorative justice and contribute to rehabilitation and resocialization of inmates, former inmates, probationers and children in conflict with the law.
Objectives
- LOT 1(EUR 3,200,000): to enhance and expand the opportunities for vocational education and employment.
- LOT 2(EUR 500,000): to provide psycho-social and medical rehabilitation and re-socialization.
- LOT 3(EUR 300,000): to implement secondary crime prevention programmes specifically for juveniles and children in conflict with the law.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- LOT 1
- minimum amount: EUR500,000
- maximum amount: EUR800,000
- LOT 2
- minimum amount: EUR 400,000
- maximum amount: EUR 500,000
- LOT 3
- minimum amount: EUR 250,000
- maximum amount: EUR 300,000
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person
- be non-profit-making
- be a specific type of organisation:
- national or international non-governmental organisation (including inter alia independent foundation,think tank, community-based organisation,university or research institution)
- national public sector operator (legal entity of public law)
- local authority (such as a municipality)
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Georgia
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- be established for at least one year at the time of the publication of this call, as documented by the organisation’s registration documents
- have a proven record of relevant support to justice sector reforms
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations.
- Each application must be submitted by the applicant and at least two co-applicants.
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept notes
- Full applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application
