The European Union is seeking proposals from organisations for a country based support scheme (CBSS) with an aim to promote democracy and human rights worldwide through support to civil society initiatives.
The global objective of this call for proposals is to promote and support democracy and human rights worldwide allowing for assistance that will contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law, and respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms, within the framework of the community’s policy on development cooperation, and economic, financial and technical cooperation with third countries, and consistent with the EU’s foreign policy as a whole.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 50,000 and EUR 300,000.
Location
Actions must take place in the Republic of Serbia.
Duration
The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 24 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be civil society organizations and
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or any country, as well are eligible for participation in contracts financed under this Instrument, without prejudice to the limitations inherent in the nature and objectives of the action
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
- in case the applicant is a CSO not established in Serbia, it must act with at least one co-applicant that is established in Serbia
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations.
- The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s).
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- concept notes
- full application
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
