Deadline: 18-Sep-21
In the context of the G20 Call to Action (through the Matera Declaration) for Food Security, and on the Occasion of G20 Joint Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Development, The Food Coalition is launching a Call for Proposals to mobilize political commitment, technical and financial support for countries affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
Through this call FAO is inviting the Members to join their efforts and build coalitions across countries and with non-State actors, who have mutual interest in addressing concrete challenges on the ground, around selected priority areas of work.
In 2021, the Food Coalition will be providing significant support for the Food Security Agenda of the G20 under the Italian Presidency, taking the opportunity to advocate and mobilize support for the most vulnerable and hardly hit by the pandemic.
The present Call for Proposals has been launched during the joint session of G20 Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Development on 29 June 2021.
Areas of Work
All proposals are suggested to be formulated around one or more of the following priority areas of work:
- Global Humanitarian Response Plan
- Economic Inclusion and Social Protection to Reduce Poverty
- Reduction of Food Loss and Waste
- Food Systems Transformation
Eligibility Criteria
- This Call is aimed at FAO Members.
- It is built around the principles of multilateralism, multi-stakeholder, country ownership and thematic focus.
- The proposal should focus on one of the four selected priority areas of work, and be based on a sound problem analysis, be results-focused, risk-informed and sustainability and resilience-oriented.
- It is also expected that proposals clearly indicate how the proposed project intervention will address the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and/or will support the recovery from it in the recipient country(ies).
- The eligibility criteria for the submission of the proposals include that:
- the proposal is presented by at least two countries;
- participant countries should ensure that at least one non-State actor (e.g. academia, private sector, civil society, etc.) is included in the implementation of the project;
