The Gay Lea Foundation has announced applications for its Community Impact Grants program, supporting initiatives in education, health, wellness, poverty relief and sustainable agriculture.
These grants aim to strengthen community capabilities where Gay Lea Foods’ employees and members live and work, fostering resilience and long-term positive change.
Grant Types
- Community Well-Being Grants
- These grants focus on strengthening the fabric of local communities by funding initiatives that:
- Advance education: Improving access to quality education, promoting lifelong learning, and enhancing skills development.
- Strengthen health and wellness: Supporting mental, physical, and emotional well-being through community-driven programs.
- Address poverty relief: Providing essential resources and services to help individuals and families achieve stability.
- Deliver impactful social programming: Encouraging cultural, recreational, and civic initiatives that foster meaningful community engagement.
- These grants focus on strengthening the fabric of local communities by funding initiatives that:
- Sustainable Agriculture Grants
- These grants support initiatives both locally and internationally, that promote innovation and sustainability in agriculture, with funding available for projects that:
- Enhance agricultural development and innovation: Driving advancements in farming practices, technology, and sustainability.
- Promote environmental stewardship: Encouraging efforts to protect ecosystems, reduce environmental impact, and conserve resources.
- Strengthen co-operative organizations locally and globally: Empowering co-operatives to build capacity, drive collaboration, and create opportunities.

Funding Information
- The Gay Lea Foundation offers grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to support initiatives that foster vibrant communities and promote sustainable agriculture.
- Community Well-Being
- Minimum Grant $10,000 | Maximum Grant $50,000
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Minimum Grant $10,000 | Maximum Grant $25,000

Eligibility Criteria
- Your organization must be a registered Canadian charity with a valid CRA number to apply.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The Gay Lea Foundation does not fund:
- Organizations that are not Revenue Canada designated charities.
- Individuals
- Fundraising initiatives, including auctions, benefits, dinners, exhibits, conferences, and sports events.
- Endowments or capital campaigns
- Personal or group expeditions
- Sports sponsorships
- Advertising, film, music, television, video and media production projects or broadcast underwriting.
- Churches and religious organizations primarily for religious purposes
- Fraternal organizations
- Political causes, candidates, organizations, or campaigns
- Private trusts and private foundations
