German Embassy in Amman is seeking applications for its micro-projects to support local organizations in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the amount of up to 7.000 EUR.
Micro-projects aim to relieve intermittent emergency situations of the population and take into account the basic needs of the poorest of the population. Micro-projects can only be implemented during the current year.
This year, too, the German Embassy calls for the applications of civil society organizations for projects scheduled to be concluded by December 31, 2018. This year’s topics are Early Childhood Education and Promotion of Women.
Eligible Projects
- The Jordanian organization cannot fully finance the project with its own funds. However, the organization should be able to finance some part of the project itself.
- Materials required for the implementation of the project should preferably be procured
- Staff expenses of the organization or specialized workers employed within the framework of the project as well as costs incurred for material handling are eligible for funding, if it can be outlined comprehensibly why these services cannot be provided by the organization itself or by the local community.
- If the project is aiming to financially support training courses; the costs for rent, technical equipment and fees for coaches that are incurred within the framework of the project are eligible for funding. However, housing, board or per diem allowances for the participants cannot be covered.
- The project has to be a self-contained measure. It must not result in recurring obligations for the German Embassy.
- In the case of kick-off measures, precursors and materials directly linked to the project may be subsidized for a maximum of 6 months.
- The maintenance of technical equipment procured within the framework of the microproject has to be guaranteed even after the project has concluded.
Ineligible Projects
- Projects supporting individuals or privileged groups or project which effects are mainly limited to Jordanian government agencies or institutions, without improving the quality of life for the local population.
- Projects that already receive or could receive grants from another budget title of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- The organization is not capable of solely supporting follow-up costs of the project.
- The effects achieved by the project are not sustainable for at least 3 years.
- Projects in the military or police
- Projects of applicants that, upon submission of the application, do not have all of the necessary registrations with the respective agencies in place or where there are unsettled legal matters.
