The NEXT Romania – Ukraine Programme launches call for Small-Scale Projects to select projects that will benefit cross-border communities in the fields of education and good governance.
This programme supports cross-border cooperation between Romania and Ukraine, focusing on key areas such as inclusive education, healthcare, and climate change adaptation. It also promotes biodiversity preservation, sustainable tourism, and improved border management. The programme strengthens regional resilience to natural disasters and fosters collaboration on environmental and social challenges, crucial for the recovery of war-affected areas.

- Interreg promotes inclusion, employment and access to quality health, education, training and skills. It also supports culture, sustainable tourism and equality to create a fairer, more inclusive society.
- Better Governance
- Interreg strengthens institutional capacity and encourages collaboration across borders. It reduces legal and administrative obstacles, promotes mutual trust and citizens’ cooperation, and reinforces governance structures in place. It also helps build more transparent, inclusive and sustainable democratic governance.

- Enhance efficient public administration by promoting legal and administrative cooperation and cooperation between citizens, civil society actors and institutions, in particular, with a view to resolving legal, capacity and other obstacles in the border region.

Funding Information
- The call targets small-scale projects, with a total available financial allocation of EUR 15 605 083.
Eligibility Criteria
- Each entity partner in the project shall meet the following cumulative requirements:
- To be in any of the situations regarding its place of registration listed below:
- Are legal entities registered and located in Programme area, namely in the Romanian counties of, Botosani, Maramureș, Satu Mare, Suceava, Tulcea, or the Ukrainian oblasts of Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Zakarpattia,
- Are legal entities registered outside the Programme area,
- Are European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) regardless of their place of establishment, provided that the members thereof involve partners from Romania and Ukraine.
- To be in any of the situations regarding its place of registration listed below:
- Are non-profit making organisations,
- Are directly responsible for the preparation, management and implementation of the project with their Partners, not acting as an intermediary,
- Be able to submit an annual balance sheet for the previous year, or at least a montly balance sheet for the current year.
