The International Renaissance Foundation has announced a competition for partnership ideas in the crowdfunding for media initiative.
With this initiative, the Foundation seeks to strengthen the practice of financing major public initiatives through crowdfunding – raising funds from citizens, creating new support opportunities for the media.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount that the Fund will co-finance under this initiative is UAH 150,000.
- If the crowdfunding is successful – the Foundation will fund the project of the NGO in an amount equal to the amount raised through the crowdfunding (but not more than the purpose of the campaign).
- The grant money can be directed both to the production of content and to the development of the media, strengthening it as an organization (formation of development strategy, marketing research, debugging of business processes, etc.).
Duration
Campaign preparation and running time is no more than 6 months from the submission of the application selection notice.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-governmental organizations, public associations, charitable foundations registered in any region of Ukraine are invited to participate in the competition.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria for the first stage of applications:
- Perspectives on forming a community around the media (understanding and segmenting one’s own audience; past experience of raising funds from the community (crowdfunding, prepayment, fundraising events) or realistic plans to continue such practices; having clear media development plans and modeling success).
- The ability of the project team and the financial feasibility (the realistic nature of collecting the claimed amount through crowdfunding – by analogy with similar projects or substantiating the ability of the project to raise the necessary funds; reasonable and balanced budget costs).
