The Two Ridings Community Foundation is accepting applications for its Knabs Ridge Wind Farm Community Fund to help voluntary organisations, community groups and small charities and other types of not-for-profit organization that support charitable, educational, community, environmental, energy efficiency or general community amenity projects in the local area.
Priority will be given to projects that can demonstrate that they will make a lasting benefit to people’s lives.
Funding Information
- Grants are available of up to £3,500. They have a total funding pot of £28,000 for this round.
- They will also accept applications for micro grants of up to £700 all year round (if funds allow). If you are going to repeat the work you are applying for through a micro grant, you can apply for more than one year at once. So, you can apply for up to £700 per year, for up to three years.
What grants can be used for?
- The fund will provide grants that support charitable activities that:
- Enhance quality of life for local residents
- Contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities
- Promote community spirit and encourage community activity
Who can apply?
- The Knabs Ridge Wind Farm Community Fund grants are targeted at organisations with a turnover under £500,000 with charitable aims where a small amount of money can make a significant difference. You can apply if you are based in or serving the residents of based in and/or serving the communities within the parishes of:
- Birstwith
- Felliscliffe
- Fewston/Washburn
- Hampsthwaite
- Haverah Park with Beckwithshaw
- Menwith with Darley
- Norwood
- Organisational/Group Eligibility
- In order to apply to the Knabs Ridge Wind Farm Community Fund your organisation must be:
- Either a small voluntary organisation, community group, small charity or other type of not-for-profit organisation provided that the purpose of the grant is wholly charitable
- Have a governing document (also known as a constitution, rules, memorandum, or articles of association) in the name of their organisation which outlines their charitable objectives and includes a charitable dissolution clause with a named body in their asset lock
- Have a bank account in your group/ organisation’s name with at least two signatories, who are not related to one another
- Have an annual income of under £500k per annum

Ineligibility Criteria
- The following can not be funded:
- Private Businesses or individuals
- General appeals or sponsorship
- National organisations and their affiliates
- Work which has already started or taken place / retrospective funding
- Work normally funded from statutory sources
- Work undertaken by or on behalf of statutory bodies as part of their statutory activities
