The Whistler Community Foundation (WCF) is accepting applications for the Moving Mountains for Children Fund to support charitable organizations whose activities help children and youth, ages 0-18 and their families, in Whistler.
Funds can be applied to learning opportunities for Early Childhood Educators (ECE), capital assets for childcare centres or programs, and seed funding for new programs.
Funding Information
- Total available: $1500.00 | $750 available for ECE courses, $750 available for programs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Criteria for Learning Opportunities
- Applicants must:
- Be employed by a registered non-profit childcare centre
- Reside in or work in Whistler
- Be pursuing programs or courses focused on early childhood education or childhood development
- Demonstrate exemplary achievement and qualities
- Exhibit community leadership, consideration for others and outstanding personal qualities
- Applicants must:
- Criteria for Capital Assets
- Applicants must be a qualified donee that runs children’s programming in Whistler
- Capital assets may include equipment, software, books, or other items that contribute to the long-term benefit of the community
- Applicants must demonstrate a plan for long term sustainability of programs
- Criteria for Seed Funding for Children’s Programs
- Applicants must be seeking funding to create new children’s development programs that are not available in the community
- Preference will be given to programs that support the expansion of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and experiences in Whistler
- Seed funding may include support for initial operating costs including wages, and/or assets.
