The U.S. Department of State’s Consulate General in Peshawar announces an open competition for one assistance award through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), contingent on funding availability, through the Public Diplomacy Grants Program.
Project Goal
- Improve quality of life for PWD in Pakistan, providing them with technological solutions to widespread problems. Raise awareness of disability rights, accessible solutions, and social inclusivity for PWD
Project Objectives
- Recruit a total of 100 (50 male and 50 female) young entrepreneurs from all over Pakistan to enhance their capacity to build products and solutions for person with disabilities, for a three-day International Day of Persons with Disabilities Hackathon. Recruit 100 PWD—50 male and 50 female. Recruit mentors and judges
Funding Information
- Award amounts: Awards may range from a minimum of $200,000 to a maximum of $250,000
- Award Ceiling: $250,000 Award Floor: $200,000
- Length of performance period: 6 months
- Number of awards anticipated: One (1)
- Anticipated program start date: June 1, 2024
Eligibility Criteria
- The following Not-For-Profit organizations are eligible to apply:
- Not-for-profit organizations
- Civil society/non-governmental organizations
- Think tanks
- Public and private educational institutions
- For-profit entities, even those that may fall into the categories listed above, are not eligible to apply for this NOFO. Organizations may sub-contract with other entities, but only one, non-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient of the award. When sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.
