Natural Resources Canada is accepting proposals for Education and Awareness Project Funding – EV Charging and Clean Fuels.
Objective
- The objective of this call for proposals will be to support projects that address gaps in awareness, knowledge and public and industry confidence in the charging of light-duty zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) and/or the use and opportunities provided by clean fuels.
Focus Areas
- NRCan is seeking to support projects that increase awareness, knowledge and understanding about the opportunities, benefits and considerations of ZEV charging and clean fuels related to two areas of focus:
- Area of Focus 1 – Charging, Charging Infrastructure and Operation
- Support for projects that aim to address demonstrated gaps in awareness and knowledge among Canadians about light-duty electric vehicle charging, charging infrastructure, and operation.
- Area of Focus 2 – Clean Fuels Awareness Projects
- Supports projects that address awareness and knowledge gaps among Canadians and industry on all clean fuel types and clean fuel technologies (e.g. hydrogen vehicles, heat systems using clean fuels, etc.) across all industries, commercial applications and the general public.
- Area of Focus 1 – Charging, Charging Infrastructure and Operation
Eligible Activities
- Examples of project activities:
- developing education and/or awareness campaigns on electric vehicle charging and operation or clean fuels
- outreach and awareness events
- creating web-based resources
- increasing knowledge of charging & refuelling and/or clean fuels options and technologies
Geographical Focus
- All projects must be national in reach or focused on an underserved region of Canada. For the purposes of this funding opportunity, underserved areas are defined as the Territories, Prairie Provinces, Atlantic Canada or rural areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be considered for funding under the program, applicants must be:
- organizations and legal entities validly incorporated or registered in Canada including not-for-profit and for-profit organizations such as:
- electricity or gas utilities
- private sector companies
- industry associations
- research associations
- standards development organizations
- Indigenous and community groups
- Canadian academic institutions
- provincial, territorial, regional or municipal governments or their departments or agencies, where applicable, or
- international legal entities validly incorporated or registered abroad including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations such as:
- private sector companies
- industry associations
- research associations
- standards organizations; and,
- academic institutions
- organizations and legal entities validly incorporated or registered in Canada including not-for-profit and for-profit organizations such as:
Ineligibility Criteria
- Softwood lumber companies and those that are vertically integrated with these companies are not eligible for funding under this opportunity.
