The Swedish Federation for LGBTQI Rights (RFSL) is happy to invite community-based bi+, intersex, lesbian, and trans groups, initiatives, and organizations to apply for a small grant program.
The call aims to ensure that activists, initiative groups, and organizations representing and advocating for the needs of these movements within LGBTQI organizing have access to resources to address the unique and specific challenges of the communities they represent and can influence the LGBTQI agenda on a national, regional, and international level.
Funding Information
- The maximum funding amount for one project is 100 000 SEK (approx: 8 930 Euros).
Eligible Costs
- Renting meeting spaces or venues;
- Contracting facilitators or trainers;
- Salaries and other staff costs (including insurance);
- Development of campaign materials;
- Transport and accommodation for participants for project activities;
- Administration related to proposed project activities;
- Security costs, for example, risk assessment and development of security plans, emergency buttons, physical and digital security solutions, etc.
Eligible Activities
- Community mobilizing and organizing;
- Activities to strengthen the capacity of the organization, including activities focused on security, sustainability, well-being, and burn-out prevention;
- Direct psychological and legal support to community members;
- Creating and maintaining safe spaces for the community members;
- Activities that support communities’ safe gatherings, such as music events, sports events, etc.;
- Campaigns and/or advocacy work aimed at the general public and decision-makers;
- Other activities, assessed as relevant by the communities that the organization serves.
Who Can Apply?
- They invite the following groups to apply:
- Bi+ (including but not limited to bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, and polysexual queer groups/initiatives/organizations);
- Lesbian groups/initiatives/organizations;
- Intersex groups/initiatives/organizations;
- Trans (trans, non-binary, and gender diverse groups/initiatives/organizations).
- To be eligible, the group/initiative/organization should be:
- Bi+, lesbian, intersex, or trans led and/or have a meaningful representation of the groups;
- Have demonstrated strong ties to the bi+, lesbian, intersex, or trans communities, by, for example, being membership-based, through annual general meetings, strategic meetings, inclusive and equitable decision-making processes, etc.
- Guided by input and feedback from bi+, lesbian, intersex, or trans community members;
- Based in and/or working in Armenia, Moldova, and Ukraine. NOTE: Groups, initiatives, and organizations from these 3 countries that have been displaced, or had to relocate due to conflict, war, or other security risks and reasons, are eligible to apply, as long as their proposal focuses on working in the country and/or working with the community members of the above countries, and demonstrate other criteria.
