The Digital Defenders Partnership is currently soliciting applications from Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia for the Sustainable Protection Fund (SPF) to help human rights organisations or collectives build their long-term digital security capacities.
Priorities
- The fund prioritises organisations and collectives working on:
- media and freedom of expression,
- civil and political rights, and
- feminist and LGBTQIA+ movements.
Funding Information
- The SPF provides grants up to €15.000 and covers activities for a maximum of one year.
Eligible Activities
- Supported Activities:
- Training and accompaniment: Digital security upskilling or holistic protection coaching.
- Technical implementation: Support for deploying secure systems or processes.
- Physical security upgrades: Measures that help enhance digital security and information management.
- Psychosocial support: Addressing the mental health impacts of digital threats.
- Essential infrastructure: Computers, servers, or secure hosting only when integrated with other capacity-building measures.
Ineligible Activities
- The SPF does not fund outward-facing activities (e.g., public campaigns, digital security training for external groups, or direct service provision to beneficiaries).
