Deadline: 15-Jun-25

Are you working in quantum science or technology? United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is conducting a global survey to better understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities in the quantum field.

In the context of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), UNESCO, with IBM and Unitary Foundation, is launching the Global Survey on the Research Status and Infrastructure in QST to map the global quantum research ecosystem. This initiative aligns with the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD), reinforcing UNESCO’s commitment to leveraging science for the greater good and shaping a culture of science. The results of this survey will provide critical insights into the global quantum landscape, supporting UNESCO and its partners develop evidence-based strategies to strengthen research capacity, enhance international collaboration, and support inclusive growth in quantum science and technology.

QST is transforming diverse fields, including computing, communication, and sensing. However, while quantum advancements are accelerating in developed regions, many countries, particularly in the Global South, face challenges related to research capacity, access to technology, and workforce development. These disparities risk deepening global inequalities in science, technology, and economic opportunities.
