The Brimbank Quick Response Grants aim to fill a gap in funding for not-for-profit community groups and organisations requiring assistance for emerging or unexpected needs and opportunities outside of the Brimbank Annual Community Grants Program timelines.
Grant Categories
- Establishment Grants: Support for new community groups including new Seniors Groups that are permanently based in Brimbank. Applicants can be unincorporated at the time of application but must be able to provide evidence of incorporation and public liability insurance in their final grant’s acquittal report.
- Responsive Grants: A new grant category, offering opportunities to address emerging community needs across the year.
Funding Information
- Establishment Grants: up to $1,500
- Responsive Grants: up to $2,000
Eligible Activities
- Items that may be covered include, but are not limited to:
- Administrative items such as postage, stationery, and printing costs up to 20% of the total Grants budget requested from Council.
- Advertising.
- Catering costs.
- Venue hire for activities.
- Equipment hire for specific activities. Note: sporting equipment may be considered.
- Facilitator/trainer/coach/artist fees.
Ineligible Activities
- What’s not funded:
- 100% of funding to a single cost
- Costs that are not related to an urgent and unforeseen funding need that does not fall within the annual grants timeframes
- General purchases
- Festivals
- Purchase of alcohol, tobacco, fireworks, and activities or items related to gambling.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible applicants must:
- be Incorporated, not-for-profit organisations that are based in, or otherwise service, the Brimbank Local Government Area or apply through an auspice arrangement
- Establishment Grant applicants can be unincorporated at the time of application
- have Public Liability Insurance cover for the duration of the project (Establishment Grant exempt)
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) (Establishment Grant exempt)
- Project or activity to be based in Brimbank
- Must have satisfactorily acquitted previous grants funded under Brimbank Council’s Community Grants Program from 2022/2023 or prior (ongoing projects with written approval are exempt).
