The Bupa Foundation is requesting proposals for its Green Community Grant Program to support practical projects which help both people and planet health.
The scheme is open to non-fee paying schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK, Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.
They want to help fund practical projects which benefit both people and planet health, with priority given to regeneration of green spaces in or near cities for community use.
Funding Information
- Grants of between £500 and £2,000 are available.
- Duration: Projects must be delivered by the end of April 2026.
Eligible Projects
- They want to fund practical projects which benefit both people and planet health.
- Priority will be given to projects that:
- improve (or create new) green spaces in or near cities
- benefit and involve the local community
- are located in disadvantaged areas (i.e. high Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) scores for the postcode, or a school with a significant proportion of children benefitting from free school meals)
- Some examples of project ideas could be:
- Improving a local community garden for community use and recreational activities to improve wellbeing
- Volunteer-led tree or flower planting to improve air quality and biodiversity
- A school or community group creating an outdoor classroom, ‘forest school’, or natural playground.
Ineligible Projects
- Work that has already taken place or will have taken place before you receive a grant from them. (please note that you can apply for an ongoing project, however they will only fund it from the date you receive a grant from them).
- Research projects
- Political donations
- Fundraising activities or challenges (e.g. costs for a sky dive etc.)
- Running costs and organisation overheads (we can fund staff salary costs as long as these are directly for project delivery).
Eligibility Criteria
- Grants can be awarded to non-fee paying schools, registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, local authorities and social housing providers.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Applications are not eligible from:
- Individuals
- Community Interest Companies with shares (CIC’s)
- Community Interest Companies with guarantee that are less than two years old
- Profit-making organisations
- Unconstituted organisations
- Private, fee-paying schools
Application Requirements
- A copy of your governing document (e.g. constitution, memorandum or articles of association).
- If your organisation is not a school, or a registered charity or a registered company (i.e. you don’t have a charity or company number and are not registered with the Charity Commission or Companies House), they will require the Main contact to provide two forms of Identification – one for proof of name and the other for proof of address.
- A project consent form if you are making a capital improvement to land or a building (This will be provided in the application form).
