The Rethink Ireland has launched the Hi Digital Fund Program which addresses the digital skills gap among Ireland’s ageing population.
They invite applications from projects and organisations that innovatively work to empower Ireland’s older adults to enhance their digital literacy, as well as improve social inclusion and quality of life through the use of technology, to ensure that no one is left behind as they transition to a more digital society.
The fund offers a package of cash grants and non-financial supports for up to five projects to help them expand and increase their social impact.

- A place on Rethink Ireland’s Accelerator Programme
- Business and capacity-building supports designed in consultation with successful projects on topics such as strategic planning, impact management, communications, and fundraising.

Eligibility Criteria
- This fund is open to organisations with a not-for-profit legal form, e.g. a company limited by guarantee, co-operative, trust, charity and other voluntary organisations
- Projects must be working towards promoting digital literacy and social inclusion for elderly individuals, and must align with one or more of the following:
- Enhance digital literacy, promote social inclusion, and improve the quality of life for elderly individuals through the use of technology.
- Enhance community well-being by leveraging digital solutions to address challenges faced by elderly populations.
- Focus on bridging the digital divide among older adults, particularly those facing socio-economic disadvantage or marginalisation.
- Projects that utilise evidence-based strategies and best practices in promoting digital literacy and social inclusion for older adults, ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of interventions.
- Projects that collaborate with public bodies or other stakeholders to maximise impact, with a primary focus on community or third-sector projects leading the initiative.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following applicants cannot apply:
- Applicants under 18 years of age
- Commercial companies, sole traders and individuals
- Any staff member from Rethink Ireland and their family members. Family members include siblings, parents, spouses or civil partners or children.

- Statutory or public bodies, companies limited by shares and organisations that are state bodies or agencies that are not registered charities
