The Hume City Council is now accepting applications for its Rural Land Management Grant (RLMG) to provide sustainable landowners or managers with the support and incentive to conduct land management activities across their property.
Funding Information
- There is cap of $2,000 grant funding per property per year.
- The grant is offered at $300 per property plus $20 per hectare. Example:
- Five-hectare property – landowner would receive $400 ($300 base grant plus $20 x 5 hectares = $400).
- 40-hectare property – landowner would receive $1,100 ($300 base grant plus $20 x 40 hectares = $800).
What can I use the grant for?
- conducting weed control through the purchase of equipment or herbicide
- hiring a contractor to conduct land management works
- pest animal control
- purchase of indigenous seedlings for revegetation works
- erosion control works.
Eligibility Criteria
- Property is within Green Wedge, Green wedge A, Rural Living and farming zones
- Property is 0.4 hectares in size or greater
- Evidence of satisfactory land management can be demonstrated
- Landowners who do not receive the Conserving the Rural Environment grant and the Primary Producer Rate Rebate
