The Science Forum South Africa is currently inviting applicants for thematic session proposals for the 2016 Forum. The 2016 Forum will have a specific focus on the social sciences and humanities, as well as the role of science in Africa’s development.
The theme for the Science Forum South Africa 2016 is Ignite Conversations about Science.
Objectives
- To create a platform for a vibrant debate on the role of science, technology and innovation in society
- To promote international science, technology and innovation partnerships
- To create a platform for key science, technology and innovation actors, including senior government leaders, academics, scientists, industry, civil society, and students to interact
Thematic Tracks
- Shaping humanity
- Preparing people for the knowledge economy
- Open science and open innovation for Africa’s development
- Science transforming society
- A better world
- Innovation shaping the industry of tomorrow
Eligibility Criteria
- International perspective (speakers/participants from outside South Africa, especially from other African countries, is strongly encouraged).
- Diversity (panels will be expected to aim for an appropriate balance with regard to race and gender and should promote inclusivity).
