The Small Grant Program is designed to provide partial assistance with those who are planning projects related to Japanese arts and culture or Japanese studies (not included Japanese language projects) in the areas/countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount of the grant is US$1000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit organizations (e.g., universities, research institutes, NGO, etc.) in the Middle East and North Africa. Applications from individuals are not accepted.
- One or more of the following (a) to (d) are not eligible
- Foreign governments including their administrative organs, embassies and consulate-generals, but excluding educational, research, or cultural institutes
- International organizations that Japanese national government organs contribute to
- Japanese national government organs, local governments, incorporated administrative agencies, local incorporated administrative agencies
- Organizations, institutes, facilities attached to or established by category above (e.g. Japanese national or public schools)
- Non-profit projects/events that help to promote the international cultural exchange and dialogue between Japan and the applicant’s country/region.
- Applying projects should be in field of Japanese arts and culture (e.g. exhibition, performing arts, film screenings), or Japanese Studies (humanities or social sciences, except for natural science). The contents of the projects should be related to Japan.
- Applicants must have (or set up) a bank account in the name of the applying organization before the grant payment period to receive grants from the Japan Foundation, Cairo.
- The receipt of a grant or other form of subsidies from the Japan Foundation, Cairo, is not in violation of any laws or regulations in the applicants’ areas/countries.
- Religious and political activities are not eligible.
