The Department of Premier and Cabinet is pleased to announce its grant program to deliver community-based projects and/or enhanced service capability to support inclusion, access and equity for diverse people and groups who experience barriers to support for family and sexual violence.
Priority Areas
- The Family and Sexual Violence: Supporting Diverse Communities Grants Program 2024-25 Program has four priority areas for funding:
- Additional support and/or tailored service delivery.
- Early intervention responses that address non-physical forms of violence.
- Innovative solutions to increase operational capacity and/or build workforce capacity to respond to diverse communities.
- Improving evidence and data collection.
Funding Information
- The Grants Program has a total funding pool of $321,928. Eligible applicants can apply for grants ranging from $10,000 to $80,000 per applicant.
Eligible Projects
- Examples of suitable projects (without being exhaustive) could include:
- A project involving a partnership, with a community-based specialist Family and Sexual Violence (FSV) service, to deliver staff training to increase awareness of working with diverse communities;
- A project focussed on innovative and inclusive service delivery (i.e. not being restricted to men’s or women’s service delivery);
- A project that addresses a service gap in the family and sexual violence sector and demonstrated need within the community; and
- Legal support for diverse communities in regional/remote areas.
Ineligible Projects
- Applications for the following purposes are not eligible:
- government delivered programs and services;
- infrastructure projects, including equipment, building, refurbishment and maintenance projects;
- primary prevention projects;
- projects that require recurrent or multi-year funding;
- projects that are for-profit; and
- projects or events that have commenced or already taken place, that is, retrospective funding. Organisations that are already in receipt of Tasmanian Government funds (procurement; sponsorship and/or grants) for the same project, are not eligible to apply unless there is evidence to support additional and different activities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants who apply must:
- be an organisation that delivers community support, services and/or programs to Tasmanians, where that that organisation has proven experience in delivery of services/projects to diverse Tasmanians, and who has proven experience working directly with victim-survivors of family and sexual violence, or is developing the capacity or capability of specialist services in the family and sexual violence sector.
- be an incorporated organisation registered under the Associations Incorporations Act 1964 and can either be:
- a local government authority (councils);
- not-for-profit organisation; or
- not-for-profit company registered under company law.
- Eligible organisations who are working directly with diverse Tasmanians need to demonstrate:
- Their employees or contractors have current Working with Vulnerable People registrations.
- Their organisation embeds a trauma informed approach.
Ineligible Applicants
- The following entitles are not eligible to apply for funding under the Program:
- Australian Government agencies;
- Tasmanian Government agencies;
- schools or colleges (Government or private);
- political parties;
- individuals and/or sole traders;
- for profit organisations and businesses.
