The Weir Charitable Trust Grant Programme supports Scottish-based community groups and charities to provide services across Scotland to help the Scottish community.
Categories
- Animal Welfare
- For the advancement of animal welfare
- Culture
- Supporting the heritage – tangible or otherwise – of Scotland, through project that encourage participation in and preservation of Scotland’s distinctive culture.
- Health
- The advancement of health, including prevention or relief of sickness, disease or human suffering.
- Sport
- Encouraging and increasing public participation in sport (activities which involve physical skill and exertion)
- Recreational facilities
- The provision or organization of recreational facilities (buildings, pitches or similar) with the aim of improving the conditions of life for the people for whom the facilities are promarily intended. This is only in relation to facilities which are primarily intended for people who need them due to age, ill- health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
Funding Information
- The small awards fund will consider applications up to a maximum of £25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- They may be able to help if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are a charity or not for profit community group
- You are based and operate in Scotland, providing services to improve the quality of life for the people of Scotland
- Your application meets one of the five Qualifying Categories – Sport, Health, Culture, Animal Welfare, or Recreational Facilities
- You are seeking funding of less than £25,000
Ineligibility Criteria
- They don’t fund:
- Any individual
- Any commercial venture, including start-ups
- Groups or charities with an income of more than £125,000
- A governing body
- A public sector body
- Seeking money for sponsored events to raise funds for a charity
- Applications from outwith Scotland
- One off event such as Gala Days, exhibitions etc
- Large capital projects in excess of £100,000
