Tulipán Foundation is pleased to announce the Cultural Connection Award to provide financial support to U.S.-based nonprofit organizations that want to use their proposed project to promote the richness of Hungarian culture.
By supporting these organizations, Tulipán fosters community engagement and educational enrichment within the Hungarian American community and beyond.
Funding Information
- Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the project’s scope and needs. Smaller grants may be awarded for individual events or short-term initiatives, while larger grants may fund more comprehensive projects.
Scope of Eligible Projects
- The Tulipán Cultural Connection Award supports small-scale projects that foster cultural preservation and community engagement within the Hungarian American community, while educating broader audiences on Hungarian traditions and celebrations. Eligible projects must be open to the community, and can include, but are not limited to:
- Program Development: Initiatives aimed at creating or expanding cultural or educational programs that align with Tulipán’s mission.
- Event Production: Support for organizing events such as Hungarian concerts and performing arts, film screenings, or art exhibitions.
- Educational Initiatives: Projects focused on teaching the community about Hungarian language, history, literature, arts, or folklore.
- Marketing & Outreach: Funding to promote cultural events or programs, including advertising, digital marketing, or print materials.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing with the IRS. They must also demonstrate a clear commitment to promoting Hungarian culture, heritage, or community engagement through their proposed project or show a strong interest in developing initiatives that celebrate and preserve Hungarian heritage in the U.S.
- Please note that priority will be given to projects that actively engage the local Hungarian American community or broader U.S. audiences, creating opportunities for dialogue, learning, or collaboration. These projects should have a clear public-facing component, such as workshops, festivals, or public performances.
