The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy to Ethiopia has announced an open competition for Alumni Small Grant Projects through the Public Diplomacy Grants program.
The purpose of funding projects is to provide Ethiopian alumni of U.S. government exchange programs an opportunity to carry out and implement a project that further Mission Ethiopia’s goals of:
- Promoting broad-based economic growth and development
- Creating a healthier, better educated and more skillful workforce
Project Objectives
- Alumni may submit one proposal under this funding opportunity, and at least two alumni must be involved. Projects should focus on one of these key areas:
- Youth
- Education
- Women’s empowerment
- Disability
- Entrepreneurship
- Engagement of underserved communities
- All proposals should:
- Address how the project will contribute to:
- promoting broad-based economic growth and development
- creating a healthier, better educated and more skillful workforce;
- Enumerate specific outcomes to be achieved by the end of the grant period;
- Describe involvement of alumni, participants, experts, organizations, or institutions;
- Specify the audience to be reached and the geographic locations of the activities.
- Describe how the project will have a multiplier effect or be sustained beyond the life of the grant;
- Include a media plan for marketing or advertising program activities and outcomes;
- Demonstrate an ability to manage all financial and oversight aspects of the grant.
Funding Information
Grant proposals will be funded up to $3,000 with project duration of eight months or less.
Eligibility Criteria
- All Ethiopian U.S. government exchange program alumni are invited to submit proposals to implement a project in Ethiopia.
- Alumni are allowed to submit only one proposal and the name of the exchange program and date must be clearly indicated.
- Proposals should involve at least two or more alumni.
