The U.S. Embassy in Georgia is inviting applicants from entities for its program entitled “Democracy Commission Small Grants Program Competition.
Priority Areas
- Civic Engagement (increase involvement of civil society in decision-making processes; support public education and advocacy; develop critical thinking and problem solving among youth; support leadership education, empowerment and the rights of women, minorities, people with disabilities and other groups; promote democratic practices and principles; etc.)
- Electoral System Support (non-partisan voter education; promote greater understanding and participation in electoral process; elections monitoring including training; etc.)
- Environmental Protection (public awareness campaigns; community-based projects to protect the environment; recycling/waste management promotion; etc.)
- Independent Media Development for More Informed and Engaged Citizenry (diversification of programming; professional growth; media advocacy and transparency; promote ethics in journalism; etc.)
Funding Information
This Program will provide grants of up to 24,000 U.S. Dollars.
Eligibility Criteria
Indigenous Georgian non-profit, non-governmental, media and educational organizations are eligible to apply.
