Deadline: 15 May 2020
U.S. Embassy Tbilisi announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to manage resources for strategic programming at American Corners in Georgia.
Program Objectives
- The U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, through Memorandums of Understanding with municipal governments and nonprofit organizations, has established a network of American Spaces in Georgia. The network currently includes eight American Corners which are eligible for strategic programming support from the U.S. government.
- The Public Affairs Section manages those resources through cooperative agreements with Georgian non-government organizations. Strategic programs are approved on a rolling basis by Public Affairs staff and typically vary in size $100 to $6,000. Programming proposals are submitted by Corners to the Embassy for approval and awards are made by an NGO partner managing the funds.
- These organizations are responsible for: ensuring proper bookkeeping and financial management of these resources; tracking which projects have been approved, funded, and closed; and completing all required U.S. government documentation. The NGO is not responsible for monitoring activities carried out by American Corners, nor for making competitive funding decisions.
- With this notice of funding opportunity, the Embassy is seeking to establish partnerships with up to three NGO partners to manage funds through such cooperative agreements issued before October 1, 2021. The Embassy anticipates making up to six agreements, because funding often comes from different sources at different times and therefore requires separate agreements. Each agreement will be for a term of up to 12 months.
Funding Information
- Award amounts: awards may range from a minimum of $20,000 to a maximum of $100,000.
- Total available funding: up to $200,000.
- Length of performance period: up to 12 months per agreement.
- Anticipated program start date: June 15, 2020
