Deadline: 15-May-25
The Community Development and Knowledge Management for the Satoyama Initiative (COMDEKS) is a flagship program of the Satoyama Initiative, a global effort to promote sustainable use of natural resources in the landscapes and seascapes with local communities.
The programme has been implemented in a variety of landscapes and seascapes in 20 participating countries around the world through over 400 related projects funded by both JBF and SGP, supporting innovations identified by communities for biodiversity conservation, promotion of ecosystem services, agroecosystem management and strengthening of governance systems at the landscape/seascape level.
This Phase 4 of the programme is aimed to provide valuable contribution to the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, including in relation to target 3 on the “30 by 30” goals to expand conservation of biodiversity in 30 percent of the landscapes and seascapes globally, target 2 on restoration of at least 30 percent of the degraded lands, and target 10 on sustainable use of biodiversity in agriculture, forestry and other production sectors.
