The Waterville Community Foundation has announced the applications for Waterville Grants Program to support the causes they care about.
Through the funds held with the Waterville Community Foundation, the Community Foundation meets the community’s needs by increasing connections between people and the organizations that serve them; providing grants in their core program areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health, and human service.
Funding Information
- Most grant amounts range from $250 up to $1,500. As a reference, previous grant decisions are posted on the Community Foundation’s website. The annual amount to award is typically around $2,000.
What they Fund?
The Waterville Community Foundation will provide grants to improve life in Waterville, Iowa. They want to help develop a community where people want to live, work, play and stay. Areas of WCF giving are:
- Arts and Culture
- Community Betterment
- Education and Youth Development
- Environment and Animal Welfare
- Health
- Human Service
Eligibility Criteria
- Grants are available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government entities. Tax-exempt organizations classified as other than 501(c)(3) are also eligible, if and only if, the project is deemed charitable; please contact their office to discuss the project’s eligibility prior to submitting a proposal.
- Grants selections are made in an effort to create a better quality of life for people in Waterville.
- A local governing committee reviews the applications from charitable organizations serving their community.
Restrictions
In addition to the eligibility requirements, the following restrictions also apply:
- One application per organization. (Exceptions: Government Entities and Fiscal Sponsors)
- Grant request minimum is $250. Maximum is $1,500.
- Inherently religious activities such as religious worship, instruction, or proselytization or activities that promote specific religious doctrine are not eligible.
- The following are not eligible for funding through the Waterville Community Foundation:
- Individuals
- Businesses/For-Profit Companies
- Economic Development for activities directly benefiting businesses
- Late, incomplete, or hard copy applications will not be considered. Incomplete applications are those that are in DRAFT mode at the time of the application deadline.
