Funding Landscape for Developing Communications for Social Change

Celebrate this World Radio Day on 13th February 2019 with FundsforNGOs and recognize the power of radio in bringing about social change and promoting dialogue, tolerance and peace through this medium of communication.

Radio is the mass medium reaching the widest audience in the world. It is the most dynamic, reactive and powerful tool which is adapting itself with the changing norms of the 21st century and is offering new and different platforms to interact and participate.

Communication is a paramount element for social change and development in the community. It explores the different ways information, communication processes, and media can be leveraged to bring about change in attitudes, and knowledge in individuals and communities.

NGOs have always been progressive agents for social change, part of the ‘new’ social movements which include, but are not limited to, peace, environmental, social, advocacy and human rights work. They are playing the role of catalyst and are continuously working for promoting social or political change on a broad scale or very locally.

NGOs along with their several partners frame and develop different strategies with the aim of empowering and mobilizing the societies and promoting citizen participation.

With the increasing demand for social change and development, funding has also increased from donors worldwide. They are awarding NGOs and individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to using communication to transform and empower marginalized communities.

As NGOs and individuals are showing up a lot of interest and are inclining towards the social change and development, therefore, international organizations and foundations are now opening up several calls in a year for these NGOs and individuals seeking social change.

Seeing this enthusiasm and inclination towards social change, we have made a guide on “Funding Landscape for Developing Communications for Social Change” available exclusively for our premium members. If you are a FundsforNGOs Premium Member, you can download this document by logging in here.
