There are millions of NGOs in the world today, and all of them need funding in one way or the other. Fortunately, billions of dollars every year go to NGOs and their causes. But how can NGOs access these funds? Where should they look to?

The fundraising landscape is a complex and competitive environment, and NGOs need to prioritize. NGOs should not try to access all funding mechanisms, but should narrow their search to focus and prioritize the funding streams most suitable to their organization. To accomplish this, it is necessary to understand the funding mechanisms available.
