Make Europe Sustainable For All: A Grant to Support Local Groups, Grass-Root Organisations, and Civil Society Actors

Do you campaign on the Sustainable Development Goals? Want to break out of your specific focus and work alongside others working on different SDG-related topics? If yes, then apply for the ‘Make Europe Sustainable for All’ program.

As part of the EEB-led project Make Europe Sustainable for All, financial support is available to local groups, grass-root organisations, and other civil society actors working at the local level in order to strengthen capacity, knowledge sharing and information exchange on the implementation and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to raise awareness of the transformative role the SDGs can have for every EU citizen and their role in promoting Agenda 2030.

Thematic Priority

Local actions developed by the sub-grantees shall contribute to the pan-European campaign focuses on fighting inequalities, sustainable food and agriculture, sustainable consumption and production, as well as to transformation towards achieving SDGs and reaching out and engaging local EU citizens towards sustainable, fair, low-carbon lifestyles.

Sector or Themes

The sub-granted activities must be in line with the objectives and the priorities of the present project on raising awareness on sustainable development, SDGs and Agenda 2030, in particular, actions around 3 main thematic focused campaigns:

  • Fight Inequalities
  • Sustainable food and agriculture – Good Food for All
  • Sustainable consumption and production

Size of Grants

  • Any grant requested under this call for proposals shall not exceed the maximum amount of 7500 euros.
  • Grants are subject to the 85% pre-financing payment of the agreed budget at the start of the project, and 15% balance payment after the submission of the reports based on the actual cost incurred.

Duration

  • Sub-granted activities implementation period starts from the day of the signature of contracts and must be completed by the latest 31st of March 2020.
  • Reports of implementation must be submitted within one month after the end of the selected projects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Local grass-root organizations/entities
  • Local members of national CSOs operating at the local level
  • Local citizens groups, including student groups, clubs, civic initiative groups and similar
  • Note: National civil society organisations are eligible if the action involves local groups and people at the grass-roots level.
  • In order to be eligible for a sub-grant, applicants must:
    • Be legal persons and/or registered entity.
    • Be non-profit making
    • Be established in one of the project countries.
  • Note: An applicant can submit only one proposal in the same Call for proposals.
