As part of its promise to continuously provide financial and business skills to female entrepreneurs, leading retail bank in Nigeria, Access Bank Plc has unveiled the second edition of its Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton programme.
The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa 2020 Campaign is designed to provide female owned businesses across Africa an opportunity to access to finance and world-class business trainings as well as mentoring opportunities. This programme has been designed to create an enabling environment for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa 2020 will provide up to N9 million financial grant and a unique capacity building program aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs. The programme is designed as a 3-month period incorporating pitching sessions and 8 weeks of mini-MBA training in collaboration with the IFC.
Launched in 2019, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa was the first women-in-business support initiative of its kind in the industry offered by the Access Bank W Initiative. The program in its maiden edition provided financial grants worth N9Million to the top 5 applicants with a free mini MBA certification for 50 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. This it did in conjunction with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a member of the World Bank Group).
Funding Information
As part of the graduation requirements, the fifty finalists will pitch their businesses, infusing learnings from the mini-MBA and will stand an opportunity to win financial grants up to N5 million.
- First prize is N5 million naira/local currency equivalent of winners’ country
- Second prize is N2 million naira/ local currency equivalent of winners’ country
- Third prize is N1 million naira/ local currency equivalent of winners’ country
- Fourth Prize is N750,000/ local currency equivalent of winners’ country
- Fifth Prize is N500,000/ local currency equivalent of winners’ country
The top 50 applicants will receive an 8 week mini MBA training from the International Finance Corporation.
Eligibility Criteria
Women above 18yrs old who are;
- Resident in Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, with extension to Sierra Leone, Gambia, & Congo
- Own and manage their own business in the above countries
