The Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy and Women Empowerment Organization are inviting applications to implement a project on Democracy Education for Youth in Iraq supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Baghdad.
The objective of the school is to provide young men and women with the knowledge and skills to be able to participate in rebuilding democracy process in Iraq.
The project targets 25 female/male youth from different backgrounds all over Iraq and they will gather for various session trainings/workshops on how to engage and have a better understanding on the democracy process in Iraq. The project focuses on developing the capacity of the participants and increase their knowledge on (democracy system in Iraq and other countries in the region, effective communication, principles of institutional organization, rights & freedom, increasing awareness on democratic values, and forming thematic coalitions to push for reform and policy changes towards inclusive democracy).
Eligibility Criteria
- Both female and male candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates must be aged between 20 to 35.
- Candidates from all geographical areas in Iraq can apply.
- Candidates from different religious backgrounds can apply (Muslims, Christian, Yazidi, etc.)
- Candidates must be able to fluently speak and understand Arabic language.
- Candidates must be committed to attend all weekend session classes and stay over in hotel.
- The program duration is for 3 to 4 months, and requires 3 times travel for (4 to 5 days) to Erbil or Baghdad.
- Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview in a month.
