UNESCO has announced a call for service providers to organize a training course on water security and climate resilience.
The training is not only a part of the crucial process of informing, capacity building in protecting and sustainable use of water resources in context of climate change, but it is also a way for the others to learn from each other’s experience and fresh perspectives.
Objectives
- to provide overall understanding of innovative water resources management approach in addressing water security and climate change challenges in new context;
- to strengthen capacity for relevant water professionals and water community in application of scientific-based tools and approaches to sustainable water management in responding climate change.
Specific Tasks
- To achieve the above objectives, the contractor will perform the following tasks:
- Develop the training program, include training modules, agenda and work plan, in closely work with UNESCO;
- In closely collaboration with UNESCO Vietnam, to prepare and organize the training:
- Develop an online registration form; pre- and post evaluation form, invite targeted participants and manage the participant list;
- Facilitate and deliver training course with creative, interactive and participatory approaches;
- Support logistic arrangement for event organization and travel of participants, guest speakers outside Hanoi if any.
- Coordinate to invite and work with facilitators/guest speakers for their presentations/sharing sessions if appropriate.
- Write a summary report, including pre- and post-evaluation;
- Ensure gender equality, inclusive and a culture-sensitive approach.
Target Participants: approximately 40 participants physically attended. The possible participants might include water/environmental specialists, biosphere reserve managers, young university lecturers, professionals, and researchers, and concerned officers at relevant governmental agencies working in water resources management etc. The involvement of female scientists, and female young professionals will be prioritized.
Deliverables
- Training program including training modules, agenda and detailed work plan;
- Training facilitation guide;
- Invitation letter, Registration form for participants and list of participants; Pre- and post-evaluation form;
- Training materials (presentations, and/or guiding questions for discussion, hand-on exercise if appropriate etc);
- Final narrative report;
- Financial report with relevant supporting documents.
Requirements
- A legal and registered company, institution and/or organization;
- At least 5 years of working experience in water-related issues and climate change in Vietnam;
- Experienced in organizing similar training/workshop/event in Vietnam;
- Trainers should have at least Master degree (PhD preferable) and proven experienced in capacity building on water security, water management, water-related issues and climate change, natural resources management etc.
- Requirements for creative, dynamic, and learner-centered approaches;
- Experiences in collaboration with international organizations, or the United Nations in capacity building is an asset.
