Deadline: 11-Sep-23
Are you a creative innovator or trail-blazing organisation working with children and young people? Do you have a spark of an idea and need funding and support in realising your ambition? If yes, then apply for the Innovate Grant Programme.
The Innovate grant programme is designed to develop and support emerging practitioners and smaller organisations to realise new ideas and approaches to working with children and young people through music. The fund is an opportunity to kick-start or incubate a project idea and aims to provide a space for people to take risks and try out groundbreaking work.
Funding Information
- Grants of up to £2,000 are available to individuals and organisations with an annual turnover of less than £100k for projects and ideas that will:
- Test a new idea or innovative way of working for you or your organisation.
- Provide a new or innovative activity for young people who would not normally have access to such activity.
- Offer an honest appraisal of the processes that you, your organisation and the children/young people have experienced – through creating new learning and models of best practice which can be shared across the music sector and beyond.
- Innovate is particularly aimed at individuals and grassroots organisations with an annual turnover of less than £100k looking to launch or incubate a project idea and develop new connections and skills.
Additional Support
- Mentoring – each grantee will have the opportunity to receive support and mentoring from Sound Connections staff and/or associates through 1:1 conversation.
- Free tickets for Sound Connections training and networking events between September 2023 – April 2024. Events include training in different areas of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, networks for Early Years, Social Justice and Youth Voice, and the Inclusive Practice in Action annual gathering.
Location: Projects can take place across England. Projects that will take place in Levelling Up for Culture Places or Priority Places as defined by Arts Council England are strongly encouraged.
Eligibility Criteria
- They are keen to hear from individuals and small organisations with an annual turnover of less than £100k who may be fundraising for the first time, or may not have experience of developing a funding proposal.
- They will look particularly favourably on those individuals/organisations that work at a grassroots level.
- They hope that Innovate will act as a stepping stone to support you in developing skills and confidence to secure future funding.
- Your project must have music at the heart of delivery, but they welcome applications from individuals and organisations working at a grassroots level for example youth centres, children’s centres, community groups, libraries etc.
