SBI Foundation invites potential grantees with a proven track record to implement projects in Skilling in the BFSI Sector during the current financial year FY of 2023-24 and 2024-25.
SBIF intends to engage non-profit organisations registered in India for funding projects in the thematic area of Skilling in the BFSI sector.
Funding Information
- The budget for a proposal should be in the range of Rs.1.00 Cr.to Rs. 4.00 Cr. for a support period ranging from 2 to 3 years.
Scope of Work
- Thematic Area: Skill Development in Banking, Financial Services & Insurance Industry
- Type of Skilling Programme
- The skilling programme shall be in BFSI sector, designed to cater to the demand of the industry. A broad list of Job Roles in which the skilling may be provided are listed below:
- Business Correspondent & Business Facilitator
- Insurance Agent/Advisor/Officer
- Mutual Fund Distributor
- Financial Advisor/ Wealth Management Officer
- Debt Recovery Agent
- Micro Finance Officer
- Equity Dealer / Equity Research Analyst
- Small & Medium Enterprise Officer
- Risk Management
- Branch Banking Officer
- The skilling programme shall be in BFSI sector, designed to cater to the demand of the industry. A broad list of Job Roles in which the skilling may be provided are listed below:
- Mobilization & Selection of Candidates
- Mobilization of candidates may be undertaken through;
- Awareness and counselling sessions in colleges
- Digital Marketing, advertisement in Newspapers – Flyers, posters, etc.
- Promotional events
- Publication of application form on organisation’s website
- Engagement with local Skill Development Department, State Skill Mission etc.
- Selection of candidates
- Online & Physical aptitude test to be developed for each course
- Interviews to ascertain eligibility of candidates for final selection
- Mobilization of candidates may be undertaken through;
- Minimum batch duration: 250 hours
- Minimum batch size: 25-30
- Content Development & Delivery
- Content to be developed with a focus on the practical aspects of the Job Role and other important aspects of the trade. Curriculum to be based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Qualification Packs (QPs) developed by the BFSI Sector Skill Council and Management Sector Skill Council.
- Content to be designed, curated & delivered by experienced BFSI professionals
- Training approach to be practical, application-based including key technical skills
- A blended learning program to be developed which would include intensive classroom/conceptual learning along with the development of practical skills through a short internship program built into the course.
- The training curriculum shall include domain skills in the sector along with employability skills.
- The Training Partner shall organize at least 3 Sessions by Industry Experts (from outside the institution and with at least 7-10 years of experience in the BFSI sector) per batch on a relevant topic along with insights on the nature of work, remuneration, growth prospects, challenges and best practices etc.
- Feedback mechanism to be incorporated into the course.
- Assessment & Certification
- Assessment and Certification to be undertaken for both the domain skills of role as well as Employability Skills.
- Periodic assessment of trainees to be an integral part of the course. Assignments, periodic tests, assignments based on the curriculum to be developed.
- An independent assessment of trainees by a third-party agency authorized by the BFSI Sector Skill Council and Management & Entrepreneurship & Professional Management Sector Skill Council to be mandatory for candidates.
- Beneficiaries should also be encouraged and provided with required support to appear for regulatory exams as applicable.
- Beneficiaries to be encouraged and supported to apply for regulatory certification: NISM, AMFI, etc. and provided with mentoring support for registration with industry bodies
- Placements
- Candidates successfully passing the exams to be considered as eligible candidates for placements and self-employment. The eligible candidates will be scheduled to attend interviews for suitable positions. For candidates who wish to start own business will be mentored to create business plan for loan to support the business.
- Job Fairs to be organised
- The Training Partner shall provide post placement counselling support to the placed candidates to resolve their problems and ensure retention. For candidates interested in Self-employment, necessary support towards establishment of enterprise, loan facilities, set up support shall be provided for at least 3 months after Certification of candidates
- Post placement Retention tracking of students placed for a period of 6 months – 1year
- Target Group
- Baseline and Endline study
- The proposal to have a provision for a Baseline and Endline study from an independent agency.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Agency will be expected to have its own training facility/centre (including rented) with a team of experienced skill trainers and a proven track record of providing skill training to at least 2,500 students and placements for at least 60% of the trained candidates.
- The organisation will be expected to have a minimum experience of 3 years in executing skill development projects in the BFSI sector with the following broad scope:
- Provision of training through in person classes across Banking & Finance, Securities Markets & Insurance sector (for job roles in Equity markets, Banking operations, Mutual funds, insurance advisory, Life insurance, Micro Finance Executive, Investment Advisor, Equity Analyst/Trader etc.)
- Provision of certificates supported by leading industry and educational institutions Indian Banks Association, General Insurance Council (GIC), Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and Centre for Investment Education & Learning (CIEL), BFSI Sector Skill council, NISM etc. Designing Job roles, from the entry-level executives to midmanagement cadre in any of the BFSI Sector.
- Holistic placement support – Pvt. Banks, NBFCs, Payment Banks etc.
- Established partnerships with State Skill Mission
